HBT Application 2.0 Globals HBT Application is aimed to support designers during the prestudy of a fluid machinery; it is capable, starting from external characteristic of a turbomachinery, to automatically design it according to common physics/engineering criteria up to a full 3D model.

The full interactivity of the code is its best feature. With HBT Application 2.0 all the boring and recursive operations needed to reach the final shape of a machinery (or part of it) are automatically supported by the system, allowing engineers to quickly see the effects of their changes. History The first release has been developed in 1992 using TurboPascal. Its name was TurboAx and it was working in its own graphical ambient based on DOS. It was aimed only to axial machineries and it was quite appreciated within University for its training capabilities due to its high level of interactivity.
An Italian technical magazine dedicated a publication to TurboAx (download it - (PDF - 174 kb)).

In '97 it was moved to a Window environment. All computational modules have been rewritten with C while all graphical algorithms have been written with C++; application ambient has been developed with Visual C++. Windows release was structured so that it could have handled several different kinds of machineries (screw pumps, fans etc.). The first release of HB Application 1.0 was available through the Internet and it met the interest of several engineers and universities that got in touch with us.
